QC and Welding Engineering for the Decommissioning of the Thames (Gas) Platform

Many offshore platforms worldwide are approaching the end of their economic lifespans, including the Thames platform. Consequently, they undergo decommissioning. Decommissioning is a massive operation that requires careful consideration of various factors, such as the environment, financial aspects, and the technical aspects necessary for a successful operation. The task of decommissioning the Thames platform was assigned to Boskalis and Scaldis. A single large vessel is responsible for safely transporting all the components back to shore. Weldmij provided support to this major project by ensuring quality control in the safe disassembly of all the components.
