Your responsibilities will include writing QA/QC procedures, work instructions, and ensuring that the product quality meets the project specifications. You’ll often find yourself swiftly adapting to the needs of colleagues and clients who seek your expertise. The dynamic nature of your role, with varying responsibilities in different project phases, makes your work diverse and challenging. While you may be based at our location in Drachten, you’ll also be actively involved in (international) project sites. Your knowledge and expertise will transcend borders!

Can you envision yourself becoming an indispensable link in various (offshore) projects? We are seeking a QC/Welding Engineer to join our Projects department!

An overview of your responsibilities:

As a QC/Welding Engineer, you’ll work on diverse projects and be responsible for creating welding-related documents and plans in collaboration with the client. Your focus will be on ensuring that the specified product quality is achieved as per the project requirements. Additionally, you’ll independently or collaboratively implement quality assurance programs.

But that’s just the beginning! The role of a QC/Welding Engineer is multifaceted and dynamic. You’ll be involved in drafting and reviewing various quality and welding-related documents, developing QA/QC guidelines and work instructions. Moreover, you’ll assess contractual customer specifications and ensure timely handling of non-conformities and quality inspections. Monitoring welder qualifications of team members and ensuring timely delivery of as-built documentation will also be part of your responsibilities.

Skills of a QC/Welding Engineer:

As a QC/Welding Engineer, you are results-oriented and enterprising, a team player with practical insight. Your excellent communication skills enable you to seamlessly interact with individuals at different levels, including (international) clients and various team members. Planning and organizing your work independently come naturally to you. You possess strong analytical abilities and excel in administrative tasks, providing clear and concise reports. You manage budgets with care, are self-reliant, and adept at handling changes.

You're a perfect match if:

  • You have a completed (technical) vocational or higher professional education and hold an IWT (IWI-C diploma is a plus).
  • You possess VTw-2 and VCA VOL certificates.
  • You have a strong affinity for welding and at least 5 years of relevant work experience in QC and Welding Quality Assurance.
  • Drafting ITPs, Welding, and NDT plans is not unfamiliar to you.
  • Flexibility in working hours and locations is not a problem, and you have a driver’s license (B).
  • You have excellent command of both Dutch and English, both in writing and speaking.
